Willie E. Bill Denham, 84, Anderson, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born on July 7, 1924, in Smith Grove, Kentucky to James and Mary (Wells) Denham.
Bill was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and he had been employeed at Brockway Glass in Lapel and he retired from the former Delco Remy Div. of General Motors in Anderson.
He was a member of the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church
He is survived by his wife, Dixie I. (Keller) Denham ; one daughter, Lynda (husband, Robert) Zeiss of Arcadia; one brother, Homer (wife, Hannah) Denham of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Todd (wife, Val) Zeiss of Lapel, Tim (wife, Lilet) Zeiss of Canada, and Tara (husband, Geoff) Klopenstine of Niles, MI; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jack, Tim, Abigale, and Vaughn Zeiss, Kaitlyn, and Gavyn Klopenstine; one great-great-granddaughter, Luvisa Zeiss; two step-grandsons, Garret and Gage White; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty (Fulton) Denham; three brothers, Albert, Raymond, and Louis Denham; and three sisters, Lena Clayton, Verda Poteet, and Flora Wells.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastors Bill Thompson and Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
