William "Bill" Will, 69, of Clayton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at Indiana University Health in Avon, Indiana. Born on May 14, 1955, in Wurzburg, Germany, to William Huffman and Barbara Oliphant, Bill lived a life full of love and laughter.
He will be remembered fondly as a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rebecca "Becky" (Purdy) Will, with whom he shared countless happy years. For most of his career, Bill was a dedicated semi-truck driver for Yellow Freight Systems, proudly retiring from this profession, while also being an active member of the Teamsters Union.
Bill served his country with honor in the United States Army and was part of the Indiana National Guard. As a proud brother Mason with the Bellville Masonic Lodge #65, he made lasting friendships and connections.
Above everything, the memories of Bill’s warm spirit will be cherished by his family and friends, who he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Will; mother, Barbara Oliphant; seven children, Eric (Sara) Will, Adam (Erin) Will, Aaron Will, Johnathon (Miranda) Will, Walter (Shania) Will, Daniel (Faith) Will, and Abigail (Ryan) Gruener; three siblings, David (Judy) Gilman, Susan (Mark) Belford, and Evelyn (William) Stewart; sister-in-law, Lorraine Chisler; father-in-law, John Purdy; uncle, Bruce Thompson; and eight grandchildren, Aiden, Cohen, Brea, Bryce, Kay, Addison, Hunter, and Colten. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Huffman; brother, Norman Gilman; son, John J. Will; and mother-in-law, Kay Purdy.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Memories Wedding Barn, 2588 East US Highway 40, Clayton, Indiana 46118.
A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:30pm at the Memories Wedding Barn with Pastor Donnie Watson officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Belleville Masonic Lodge, #65 and military rites will also be conducted by the Danville American Legion.
