William T. Hopkins Jr., 94, went to be with his Savior on Sept. 20, 2015.
While viewing a Billy Graham Crusade on tv, he accepted Christ as his
Savior. He looked forward to his departure from this earth and being united
with many family members. He enjoyed his ministry in the nursing homes,
comforting others with the hope one can have in Christ. He prayed earnestly
for family, friends, and those who did not know Jesus. Through his
committed life to Christ he was a witness, declaring the love his Savior had
for him and others. Congratulations dad, graduation day has come. With
love from your children and grandchildren.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1920, in Anderson, the son of William T. and Ruth
(Tillet) Hopkins Sr. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and served
in the Army Air Force during WWII and was an active member of the Grace
Baptist Church in Anderson.
He is survived by his three children, Deborah and (Tom) Lowenhar, Bethany (Chuck) Eppley, Dallas (Barbara) Hopkins; five grandchildren; Lori (Ilan) Lowenhar Gordy, Leah ( Matt) Duke, Nathanael Hopkins, Jonathan Hopkins, David Hopkins; and three great grandchildren, Micah Lowenhar, Allon Nessim, and Amit Nessim.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hopkins; and a brother, Robert Hopkins.
