William R. Bill Sherrill, 65, Lapel, former Hamilton County resident, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on December 19, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana to Dent and Anna May (Trader) Sherrill.
He graduated from Lapel High School.
Bill retired from Guide Division of General Motors in Anderson after several years of employment.
He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kandace Sherrill; son, Steven Jeffrey (wife, Kellie) Sherrill of Fishers, and grandchildren, Hailey and Evan; daughter, Deborah (husband, Gary) Huber of Noblesville, and grandchildren, Brennan, Connor, and Lillian; daughter, Teresa (husband, Dave) Cloud of Pendleton, and grandchildren, Chad Davis, and Ashley Davis; brother, Tom (wife, Carol) Sherrill of Noblesville; sister, Sandra (husband, Ted) Coverdale of Noblesville; also survived by daughter, Christy (husband, Mark) Lightfoot of Anderson, and grandson, Jake; son, Dave (wife, Michelle) Sherrill of Muncie, and grandson, Duncan; and grandchildren, Jason Sherrill, Jeff Sherrill, and Justin Sherrill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son Robert Sherrill.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Tim Stigers officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
