William M. “Bill” Godbey

William (Bill) Godbey, 77, of Greenfield passed away, December 15, 2019.He was born in Connersville, Indiana on March 15, 1942 and grew up in Fortville and Anderson.Bill graduated from Anderson High School in 1960 and went into the US Air Force following graduation. He was stationed in Minot, South Dakota, from there he went to England where he met his wife, Diane of 55 years. After his service, he came back to Indiana where he and Diane raised a family of two children, a son Aaron Godbey and a daughter Lynette O’Brien who gave them the gift of six grandkids, Garrett, Morgan and Jason and Ryan, Matthew and Luke.He resided in Florida for 11 years, before coming back to Indiana. Bill enjoyed his carpentry work and built three houses for which he was most proud. He loved animals. He never met a stranger and loved talking to anyone. He will truly be missed by his friends and family.A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064.
