William “Bill” Ingles, 76, of Anderson, passed away on July 5, 2023 surrounded by family, after fighting a sudden illness.
Bill was born November 7, 1946 to William and Verda Ingles in Racine, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Army where he served 4 years. After serving active duty, Bill came to Anderson, Indiana to begin his employment at Guide Lamp. Bill worked for Guide and was a member of the UAW Local 663 for 37 years before retiring in 2007. He also joined the Indiana National Guard in 1982 and served for 20yrs before retiring in 2002.
While working at Guide he met the love of his life, Judith Amrine, who he married on September 13, 1975. They had four children, Misty, Christy, Billy and David. Bill enjoyed taking the family boating to Lake Cumberland in Kentucky, watching his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids play sports, and liked watching Indiana Hoosier Basketball. He also got a kick out of donating his money to friends and family during a friendly game of poker, Texas Hold’em, or Left, Right, Center.
Bill is survived by his wife Judith (Amrine) of 47 years; daughter Misty (Dennis) Burton, two sons, Billy and David Ingles, all of Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessika Lark, Blake Ingles, Nicholas Burton, and Natalie (Andrew) Woodruff; four great-grandsons, Aven, Ahdir, Noah, and Luke; a sister, Maryann Bradshaw and nephew Brian Healy of Colorado.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Christy Ingles, grandson Brayden Ingles, sister Margret Healy, and in-laws Ralph and Agnes Amrine.
The Ingles family would like to give a special thank you to the Ambulance Crew of East Madison Fire Dept. and the staff at Community Hospital Anderson who helped care for Bill.
Visitation will be held on Monday July 10, 2023 from 4:00p to 8:00p at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
The funeral services will be on July 11, 2023, at 1:00pm, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN, 46013 with Ned Clark Officiating.
