William Griffin

William “Bill” Griffin, 69, Anderson, passed away on October 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 29, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late William and Catherine (Zirkelbach) Griffin. Bill retired from the City of Anderson as a Meter Reader, belonging to Local #108. He was a H.A.M. Operator, volunteered with the Madison County EMA, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vera (Flynn) Griffin; daughter, Jamie (husband, Jacob) Manns of North Manchester; grandchildren, Kayla, TJ, Caleb, Brynn, Abby; siblings, Jane Ann Hosier, Sarah (husband, Ron) Erisman, Dean Griffin; several nieces and nephews; his pet companions, Peanut and Jack; and special friend, Bob Gervolino. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Griffin; and brother in-law, Danny Hosier. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Friday, October 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl Street. Visitation will be from 4-8 Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Due to recent COVID-19 mandates, all guests are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
