William Frances Snyder

May 15, 1947 — March 31, 2024

William Frances Snyder, 76, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson following a sudden illness.


He was born on May 15, 1947, in Vincennes, Indiana to Fred T. Jr. and Mary (Kaiser) Snyder.


He was a graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. He served his country on a nuclear submarine in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors as an industrial electrician after 57 years of employment.


He owned and operated I.B. Stables for 47 years, where he bred 300+ world champion horses. He loved to breed, train and raise horses. Three of his horses are in the Appaloosa Hall of Fame. He was an Appaloosa Horse Club judge for 34 years. He served as an officer in multiple horse clubs.


He was a devoted father and husband and loved his family dearly.


William is survived by his wife whom he married on May 15, 1977, Iris (Hodson) Snyder; two daughters, Audra Snyder of Noblesville and Rose Snyder (husband, Benjamin Erickson of Stanley, New Mexico; a brother, Jim Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by parents and two brothers, Henry Snyder and Leeland Snyder.


There will be no services at this time. Cremation will take place.
