William E. Bill Husted, 75, Blackwater, VA passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Welmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN following a brief illness.
He was born on January 27, 1934, in Lapel, Indiana to Edward Snake and L. Irene Toots (Bohall) Husted.
He served in the U. S. Navy in 1954 and in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1960.
William retired from General Motors in 1994 and was a Certified Barber since 1961.
He lived in Lapel most of his life until moving to Blackwater, VA in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly Sue (Insko) Husted; two children, Terri Sue Gibson of Duffield, VA, and Chad Edward Husted of Frankton; one brother, Ronald K. Husted of Lapel; two sisters, Judy Wolski of Indianapolis and Debbie Brisseden of Anderson; three grandchildren, Audrianna Faye Jennings of Duffield, VA, Hayley Paige Husted of Fishers, and Jeffery William Gordon Jennings of Duffield, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends in the Fairview and Lapel communities.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating, and the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
