William E. “Bill” Houk, 81, of Anderson, passed away October 10, 2017 at Providence in Anderson. He was born on October 25, 1935 in Wolcott, Indiana to the late Gerald and Phyllis (Skelton) Houk and had lived in Anderson most of his life. Bill retired from U.A.W. Local 662 in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and was a U.S. Air force veteran. He is survived by two sons, Gary (wife, Lynne) Houk of Pottstown, PA. and Eddy (wife, Michelle) Houk of Anderson; three grandchildren, Tyler Houk, Lauren Houk and Christopher Houk; his brother, Robert “Bob” (wife, Brenda) Houk of Anderson and sister in law, Elfie Thompson of Vienna, Austria and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Houk, several brothers and sisters and step father, Vernon Nickson. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Carl Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
