William Douglas Snead

William Douglas "Doug" Snead, 60, Anderson, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a sudden illness. He was born on January 26, 1955, in Noblesville, Indiana to Elmer and Rosemary (Ross) Snead. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1973 and received an Associate's Degree from Ivy Tech. Doug owned and operated Dougers Small Engine Repair in Lapel. He is survived by four children, Julie (husband, James) Townsend of Madison, Cindy (husband, Tony) Hull of Martinsville, Matthew (wife, Adrianna) Snead of Michigan, and Aaron Snead of Anderson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Dennis Snead of Texas and Daniel E. (wife, Karen) Snead, Nineveh. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carol (Harrison) Snead. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Passmore officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will perform military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
