William C. “Bill” Carter, 73, of Anderson, passed away June 7, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown. Bill was born March 9, 1944, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Edward and Ruth (Schweigert) Carter and has been an Anderson resided since 1966. He graduated, from St. Mary’s High School of Sandusky, Ohio and later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. Bill was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of St Ambrose Catholic Church. He served as a Little League umpire throughout Indiana and coached several local teams. Bill also was an avid golfer and always traveled with his clubs. He was also actively involved with the Knights of Columbus having served as a Faithful Navigator and District Representative and two tours as Grand Knight. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Toni Carter; daughter, Wendy Janson; son, William “Billie” Carter Jr., grandchildren, Ryan and Hailey Janson, Benjamin, William and Reese Carter; brother and sister, Thomas (Irene) Carter and Patricia (Willie) Brown. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Carter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St Ambrose Catholic Church with Monsignor Sell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose or the Knights of Columbus.
