William "Bill" Watters

William "Bill" Edward Watters, 80, of Anderson passed away on June 25, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1944 in Stearns, Kentucky to the late Simon and Marie (Duncan) Waters. He graduated from Selma High School in 1962. Shortly after graduating, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Walker. The two were married for 47 years before her passing in 2013. Bill worked at General Motors for many years before retiring. On top of working at the factory, he was also a beautician, phlebotomist, and ordained minister. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a member of the Delaware Lodge #46 F & AM, a five-time Past Master Ritualist with the first being in 1976, and the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He received the Order of Service to Masonry on May 7, 2022 and he was recognized for being a 50+ year member. Bill was an honorary member of several Masonic Lodge's around Indiana and everyone knew him as "Uncle Bill". Bill loved to cook and shared his cooking with many people. One thing he also enjoyed was traveling to many different churches around Indiana and surrounding states.

Bill will be dearly missed by his son, Tony & Shannon Watters and grandchildren, Adam Watters, Madison Watters, Kasey Swinford, and Lainey White.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann; and brother, Wilburn Watters.

The visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Masonic service at 7:30 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. There will be a brief visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024 with the funeral ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Bill's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
