In Memory of William L. Massey, June 11, 1940-March 1, 2025. William "Bill" Lee Massey, 84, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on March 1, 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson.
He was born on June 11, 1940, in Anderson to Robert and Madonna (Stinson) Massey. Bill was a dedicated fireman and the proud owner of Edmonson's Rug & Carpet Cleaning. He also served his country as a young man in the National Guard with honor.
Known for his strong work ethic, Bill loved his job and put his heart into everything he did. In his early years, he developed a passion for his red '57 Chevy convertible and other classic cars, whether hardtop or ragtop. In his mid-life years, Bill enjoyed golfing, boating, and camping, he especially enjoyed summers with his family spent on the lake. He also liked staying active, lifting weights at the gym, and playing racquetball and wallyball.
Bill is survived by his son, John (Tracy) Massey; daughters, Angela Bostic and April (John) Faust; grandchildren, Kelsi (fiancé, Marcus Roussey) Bostic, Taylor Faust, Andrew Faust, Madison Faust, and Reece Massey; and great-grandson, Logan Lee Roussey; He is also remembered by his former son-in-law, Darrin Bostic; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his friend and caretaker, Linda Wihebrink.
Bill leaves behind his extended family of firefighters at the Anderson Fire Department and his former employees, who meant so much to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie L. Conner Massey; his brother, Robert Massey; and his sister, Carolyn Rains.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family can visit from 11:00-1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be shared at: www.bozellfuneralhome.com.
