Wayne Edward Hall

Wayne Edward Hall, 51, Lapel, passed away Sunday August 3, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on April 15, 1952, in the N. A. S. Hospital in Pensacola, Florida to William D. and Barbara (Bodenhorn) Hall. He was a 1970 Lawrence Central High School graduate. During high school he was active in the music department and was a record holding diver and a member of the tennis and golf teams. He continued to have a great passion for golf through out the rest of his life.
He received his BS in Business from Indiana University in 1974 and he played saxophone in David Bakers Jazz Ensemble while at I. U. Wayne had several different bands including, Dynamite Butch and Hugo Smooth and he came from a family history of music having played with his parents, brother, wife and children. He leaves a wealth of music that he has written. He owned and operated Hall Lighting, LLC and was also involved in financial services. Wayne grew up in the Lawrence United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel where he played woodwinds and bass guitar during services, was a member of the Ford Street Mens Quartet and taught a Junior High Sunday School class for a few years. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Joan Elizabeth (Grubbs) Hall; two children, Adam Wayne Hall and Elizabeth Anne Hall both of Lapel; his parents, William D. and Barbara (Bodenhorn) Hall of Lawrence; a brother, Larry G. Hall of Granada Hills, CA; a "sister" Jenny (Apple) Alig of Glendale, AZ; several relatives and close friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Friends may call from 11:30 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel. The family request that no flowers be sent but instead memorial contributions be made to Ford Street U. M. C., P. O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0626.
