Wayne Curtis Amick, 70, of Anderson, Indiana passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was born April 16, 1947 at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Indiana to Robert L. and Oda Lucille Amick and lived most of his life in Anderson.Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Madison Heights High School where he was part of the Madison Heights Pirates Championship legacy of the 60’s.He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War serving for four years beginning in 1965.Wayne worked at General Motors then Amick Electric until his retirement.He enjoyed hunting and fishing most of his life.Wayne was truly a patriotic American.Survivors include son, Robert W. Amick; mother, Oda Lucille Amick; sister, Lois L. Amick Harney; step-son, Tom Flora; niece and nephew, Jennifer Teasley and Alan Blake; special friends, Jesse Henry, Max Tilly, Chris Earlywine, Missy Phipps, Cheryl Murdock and Patty Hoffman.He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Amick and step-daughter, Julie Tisdale.Services at 4 p.m., Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with cremation following.Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at Lahm Chapel. Please bring a personal story to share. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to a veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
