Wanda Lee Hiday

Wanda Lee Hiday, 92, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born on May 5, 1931, in Anderson, Indiana to William Russell and Valeta Mae (Hurst) Carmony, and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1949. On October 12, 1951, she married Gilbert Paul Hiday.

For most of her life, Wanda was a homemaker who loved cooking, gardening and serving others. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. Between family gatherings, she loved playing hymns on the organ and piano, creating flower arrangements and researching geneology. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A longtime member of Prairie Baptist Church, she recently became a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

Wanda is survived by five daughters, Debra Wedmore of Westfield, Beverly (husband, David) Achenbach of Cicero, Jayne Blazier of Noblesville, Cathi (husband, Philip) Barker of Westfield and Mary Beth Hiday of Noblesville; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Carmony and Bernadine Hiday; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her infant son, Gregory Paul Hiday; her parents; a brother, Russell N. Carmony; and son-in-law, Daniel W. Blazier.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Chuck Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the funeral home.
