Wanda F. Hodson, 82, Anderson, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria following a brief illness.
She was born on July 16, 1926, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Forrest and Mary (Snowden) Williams.
Wanda owned and operated Rains Bowling Gardens in Anderson with her husband for several years.
She was a member of Anderson Women's Bowlers Association and she was an avid bowler and poker player. She was a member of the Professional Women's Bowlers Association at one time and was the first Anderson Women's Pro Bowler. She also enjoyed fishing and traveling. She especially enjoyed the winters she spent in Florida with her husband
She is survived by two children, Teresa Hodson of Anderson and Daniel (wife, Donna) Hodson of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Kent (wife, Cary) Risk of Fayetteville, NC, Lora Risk of North Carolina, Bryce Hodson of Anderson, Chelsey Ashkettle of Franklin, and Amber Askettle of Anderson; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Robert Hodson; two children, Pamela Risk and Terry Hodson; a great-grandson, Kyle Cunningham; a sister, Alice Elsten; and a brother, Harold Williams.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Gary Elsten officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
