Vonda Marie Wood, 90, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, in New Castle.

She was born September 4, 1925, in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Dillard & Bertha (Brown) Flatt.

Vonda was a member of North Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, shopping, and adding to her large collection of porcelain shoes.

She is survived by her children, Charles (April) Wood, Jr. and Lesa (Rick) Barlow; grandchildren, Britt (Rob) Frye, Robert Scott (Angie) Shook, Justin (Renee) Wood and David (Jamie) Wood; great grandchildren, Dustin Tracy, Madison Wood, Myles Shook, Henry Frye and Penelope Shook; sister, Anna Mae (Dick) Lightfoot; brother-in-law, Bud Wood; sister-in-law, Patsy Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wood; and several siblings.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 East 53rd St. Anderson. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, August 8th at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
