Vivian Charline Simmonds

ANDERSON- Vivian Charline (Griner) Simmonds, 95, of Anderson, passed away on May 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1923 in Covington, Indiana to the late Samuel and Margaret (Shuff) Griner. Vivian retired from Delco Remy in 1985 after 34 years of service. She and her late husband Forrest were owners of Simmonds Real Estate Agency. Vivian was a devout Christian and attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her dog, Sargent. Vivian is survived by her children, John (Marcia) Simmonds of Virginia, Dan (Clare) Simmonds of Ohio, Jennie (Dave) Denniston of Anderson; grandchildren, Daniel (Lindsay) Denniston, Amanda (Jay) Davis, Matthew (Lora) Simmonds, Ashley (Mike) Billman; ten great grandchildren; niece, Linda Peterson, and nephew, Larry Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest H. Simmonds; parents; sisters, Betty Kelly and Gladys Smith. Services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013 with Pastors Paul and Samuel Simmonds officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society.
