Virginia Ruth Hudson

Virginia Ruth Hudson, 90, Lapel, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness. She was born on July 19, 1924, in West Plains, Missouri to Roydon and Iva (Harper) Fisher. She graduated from Lapel High School in 1942. Ruth retired in 1986 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson where she had worked in plant 10. She also worked at the Lapel Laundramat at one time. She is survived by four children, Linda (husband, Bob) Turner of Anderson, Dale (husband, Stephen) Costlow of Noblesville, Henry Hudson of Lapel, and Susie (husband, Bill) Smalley of Pendleton; six grandchildren, Brent (Anna Kay) Turner, Dale (Sue) Turner, Mark (Heather) Costlow, Jody Costlow, John Hudson, Jr.(Krisha Lovitto), Analisa (Travis) Pettijohn; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Brent, Jr., Brooklyn, Bailie, Braxton, Bo, Maci, Drew, Jack, Gabe, Joseph, Emily, Josh, Tatem, Isabella, Carlie, Catey, Holden, Eliana, Jaggyr, Rocco, Sofia, Titus; one great-great-granddaughter, Bentlee; and her sister-in-law, Jane Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Harley Dale Hudson; a great-granddaughter, Logan; two brothers, Robert "Bud" Fisher and James Fisher; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Fisher. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. The family would like to thank the staff of Rawlins House for their kind care of their mother.
