Virginia Kay Johnson

Virginia Kay Johnson, 75, of Pendleton, passed away on December 15, 2023 at her home. Virginia was born on December 3, 1948 in Anderson to the late Ralph and Oweetah (Clark) Ridenour. She married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Dennis Johnson, on June 29, 1969. The two were married for 54 years before Virginia’s passing. She worked at Fort Ben Finance as a Public Affairs Officer for many years. Virginia was extremely funny and witty, she loved making people laugh. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. This world will be a much dimmer place without Virginia in it.

Virginia will be dearly missed by her husband, Dennis; children, Dustin Eugene (Carrie) Johnson and Michelle Ann Thompson; grandchildren, Isaac Johnson and Emma Thompson; brother, Ralph (Kathy) Ridenour; and beloved furry friend, Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Ridenour.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Reddy and the Short Stay Staff at Community Hospital.

The visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, December 22, 2023 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory-Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, IN 46064. The graveside service will begin at 1:15 PM at Grovelawn Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory-Lahm Chapel.
