Virginia Broyles

Virginia “Ginny” Broyles, 75, of Muncie, passed away peacefully at the Woodlands nursing home on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023. Ginny was born September 6, 1948 in San Jose, California to William A. Voris and Paulene Voris.

Ginny graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Indiana in 1966 and then graduated from Ball State University in 1970 with a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education degree. She was a member of Phi Beta Phi Sorority. She met her future husband, Lee Broyles at Ball State. They married in August of 1969.

She later went back to Ball State to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for twenty plus years at Ball Memorial Hospital. Nursing was her passion and she loved being able to take care of others in their time of need. She loved spending time with her family, friends, animals and her hobby of online shopping.

Ginny is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Lee Broyles, two daughters, Julie (Steve) Ensinger, and Laurie Broyles, grandson, Luke (Kayla) Ensinger, great-grandson, Nolan Ensinger, granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ensinger, sister, Nancy Voris Fleshood, nephew, Jeff Fleshood, niece, Amy (John Matthew) Dusing and their son, Will.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nelson “Pete” and Doris Pangburn of Franklin, Indiana and her parents, William and Paulene Voris of Franklin, Indiana.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Woodlands for their love and wonderful care given to Ginny. She thought of them all as her friends.

Per her wishes a private service will be held for immediate family at a later date. Any memorial donations can be made to the Little Red Door, or ARF, Animal Rescue Fund of Muncie.
