Viola Galliher

Former Lapel resident, Viola Galliher, 98, Lakeland, FL, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Lakeland Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeland, FL. She was born on August 16, 1915, in Martinsville, Indiana to Clinton and Clora Ennis. Viola retired from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 26 years of employment. She was a member of the Holiday Rambler Club and she and her husband spent many years of their retirement split between Florida and Indiana. They enjoyed traveling the United States with their friends. She is survived by one son, Jerry (wife, Sue) Galliher of Lakeland, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sue Haines of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Shelly Hogan, Kent Haines, Kurt Haines, Rick Morelock, and Cindy Harvey; 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 75 years, Frank Galliher; a son, Richard Haines; a daughter, Beverly Ann Johnson; and a granddaughter, Jana Morelock. A graveside will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Brookside Cemetery in Lapel and burial will follow.
