Vernon Fisher, 88, Lapel, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on January 18, 1916, in Hamilton County, IN to Frank and Maude (Lambertson) Fisher. He retired in 1974 from Guide Lamp after 38 years of employment. He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church and the U. A. W. Local 663. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and also enjoyed bowling. He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Duncan) Fisher; three children, Linda (husband, Bill) Hormell of Lapel, Robert (wife, Lynn) Fisher of Anderson, and Liz (husband, Steve) Reddick of Anderson; ten grandchildren, Jim (wife, Penny) Hormell, Mike (wife, Linda) Hormell, David (wife, Kathy) Hormell, Shelley (husband, Curtis) Chapman, Rob (wife, Claudia) Fisher, Tracy (husband, Brad) Davis, Christi Williams, Teresa Meyers, Angie (husband, Bob) McClintock, and Amanda (husband, Pat) Kern; and thirteen great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steven Meyers Memorial Fund c/o Madison Community Bank or to the Ford Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0626.
