Vera Mae Holt, 85, Perkinsville, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Saint Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following an extended illness.
She was born on December 27, 1921, in Madison County, Indiana to Cecil and Cleo (Robinette) Hiday.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1939.
Vera retired in 1975 from Delco Remy after over 30 years of employment.
She attended Perkinsville Community Church and was very fond of cooking, gardening and crocheting items for her family and friends
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald F. "Fred" Holt; two sons, Steve (wife, Ruthie) Holt of Pendleton and Philip (wife, Brenda) Holt of Noblesville; three grandchildren, Reggie (wife, Jaime) Holt of Chicago, IL, Ryan (wife, Laura) Holt of Westfield, and Hillery Holt of Bloomington; three sisters, Bernice Hamel of Anderson, Minnie Tooley of Anderson, and Bernadine Hiday of Noblesville; two brothers, Paul (wife, Wanda) Hiday of Arcadia and Bob Hiday of Noblesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Hiday and L. Donald Hiday; two sisters, Velma Stern and Inez House.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
