Truman Wayne Miller, 81, of Lapel, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Prairie Lakes Memory Care in Noblesville, after an extended illness with many family members by his side. He was born on November 14, 1942, in Lapel, Indiana to William "Bill" and Catherine (Hodson) Miller.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1961 and was proud to be a Bulldog. Truman married the love of his life, Bonnie Jean (Everitt) on June 23, 1963. Bonnie and Truman owned and operated Millers Auto Body, Mechanical and Collision Center. Truman served many people for 50+ years at the body shop and formed many relationships there prior to handing the baton off to his children. Bonnie and Truman spent 20 years wintering in South Ft. Myers, Florida. Truman loved everything to do with cars. He also enjoyed gardening, bike riding, and remote-control sailboats.
Truman found his spiritual home at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel. Truman and Bonnie recently were worshiping at Northview Church, Fishers Campus. Truman loved spending time with his family and friends, and he loved his family dearly.
Truman is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. (Everitt) Miller; three sons, Michael (wife, Billie Jo) Miller, Brian (wife, Vickie) Miller and John (wife, Susan) Miller; one brother, Buddy (wife, Rosemary) Miller; two sisters, Janet Hobbs and Avis Holloway; eight grandchildren, Amanda (husband, Kyle) Rasnake, Troy Schieman, Stephanie (husband, Grant) Peebles, Kirstin Miller, Garrett Earlywine, Brady Miller, Brianna (fiancé, Phoenix Mills) Miller, and Brandi (husband, Landon) Alberts; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brooklyn, Brayden, Noah, Lilah, Judah, Hezekiah, Levi, and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Maxine and Georgeann, and brother, Delbert.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home and 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday prior to the funeral service.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051, with Pastor Jon Smith and Aaron Riffey officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
