Mrs. Tommie L Wood

Tommie L. Wood, age 86, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at Rawlins house with her family by her side. She was born December 17, 1933 in Brilliant, Alabama to James and Nora (Sexton) Abbott. Tommie was a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital, then at hospitals in Michigan and Georgia during her career before her retirement. She was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert G. Wood, they were married July 9, 1949; also surviving are her sons, Robert (wife, Judy) Wood, and Mark (wife, Christy) Wood; daughters Sue (Husband, Jeff) Merritt, and Sandy (husband, Steve) Schmollinger; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; brothers JD Abbott, and Roy (wife, Eva) Abbott. Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2019 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Services and Crematory, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013. Private services to be held. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
