Tom D. Romine, 74, Cicero, formerly of Lapel, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on July 13, 1934, in Anderson, Indiana to Carl and Mable (Skinner) Romine.
He graduated from New Castle High School in 1952.
Tom owned and operated Hearing Aid Specialist in various locations and had a passion for broadcast radio.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by five children, Teresa (husband, John) Pierce of Fishers, Mike (wife, Lin) Romine of New Castle, Pam (husband, Chuck) Green of Hagerstown, Barbara (husband, Jack) Thurman of New Castle, and Paula (husband, Jimmy) Statzer of New Castle; two step-daughters, Jane Stanley of Greenfield, and Penny McLean of Fortville; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a niece, Jill Johnson of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith Elaine (McCain) Romine; one brother; and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 North East Street, Greenfield with Pastor John Davis officiating. A private family burial service will take place at Brookside Cemetery, Lapel at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
