Timothy Lee Carlin

Timothy Lee "Tim" Carlin, 54, Lapel, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on September 15, 1958, in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph and Patsy (Risco) Carlin. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1976 and was U. S. Army veteran. Tim had been employed at one time as a custodian for the Hamilton Southeastern School system. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Indiana Pacers and the Cincinnati Reds. He is survived by his father, Joseph L. Carlin of Lapel; one sister, Patricia J. (husband, Harold) McDermit of Anderson; three nieces, Kristina D. (husband, Joshua) Walls of Lapel, Alicia Sprague of Anderson, and Brandi Borum of Anderson; and two step-nieces, Beth McDermit of Alexandria, and Stacy (husband, Nathan) Wainscott of Lapel. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a niece, Natalie Sprague. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dillard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Madison County Humane Society.
