Timothy J. Ryan, III, 84, of Pendleton, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Tim was born on February 18, 1937 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Timothy J. Ryan, II and Catherine (McCarron) Ryan. He was a graduate of the Pittsfield High School, and then began a career in the United States Army. His career in the Army, literally took Tim around the world, but his most notable duty stations were: Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and finally Texas, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the Army, Tim continued to serve his country by working as a civilian at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. After Fort Harrison, Tim worked as: Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Pendleton, drove a bus for South Madison School Corporation, managed a Sub-Way restaurant, and opened and managed Ashbury Pointe in Pendleton with his wife, Joan. Tim was also a graduate of the prestigious Worcester Academy and a member of St. John Vianne Catholic Church. Those left to cherish the memory of Tim are his wife, Joan (Crine) Ryan; close friends: John and Jeanne Filbrun; care givers: Kevin Spaugh, Christi Grandison, Joni Ward, Joanne Moody, and Michael Hancock; six nieces and two nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, and sister and brother-in-law Mary Gertrude and Michael Kelly. Funeral Services for Tim will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday May 13, 2021 at the chapel of East Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service Thursday at the chapel. Entombment, with military honors, will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.
