Thomas Huston Harley

March 15, 1932 — April 18, 2019

Thomas Huston Harley, 87, passed away after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Knottsville, KY, the son of Thomas C. (Callie) Harley and Mary Catherine Fulkerson. He retired from Emge Packing Company after 24 years of service. Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life, Tina (Barrett), his parents, brothers, Otto Harley, Sam Harley, and Calvin Jr., and sisters, Cecil Meserve, Ernie Mae Logsdon, Stella Morris, Hattie Henning, and Catherine “Red” Bickett. His family was his focus, and spending time with them gave him his greatest joy. He loved playing and watching sports, his favorite teams to watch were the St. Louis Cardinals, Kentucky Wild Cats, and Indianapolis Colts. He bowled on several leagues around Anderson over the years, but golf became his passion; he loved being on the course where he made lasting friendships. He was a member of the men’s club at Yule and Grandview golf courses. He was a proud veteran of the Navy and fought in the Korean War. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Mary Kaye Payne of Anderson, Becky (Bill) Bergman of Anderson, Tena (Chuck) Logsdon of Lawrenceburg, IN, Sandy (Chuck) Todd of Hagerstown, IN, and Sue (Jim) Billman of Frankton, IN, grandchildren Madonna (Gavin) House, Cassie (Zack) Wilson, Nicki, Josh, and Zack Logsdon, Katelyn, Hannah, and Mekayla Todd, Huston and Johnna Billman, and four great-grandchildren Landon and Seth House, Lauryn Williams and Madyson Wilson, one brother Charlie Harley of Marcellus, MI and several devoted nieces and nephews. Services will be on Monday at 3:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 3:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
