Terry Lee Auker, 78, of Pendleton, passed away after an extended illness on May 7, 2020 at Providence of Anderson. He was born on September 6, 1941 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Albert and Viola Auker.Terry graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Grace College and a Masters from St. Francis College. He received his Principalship Certification from Purdue.Terry served as a Principal at Fall Creek, East Elementary, & Pendleton Middle School, having retired in 1999. He was a member of the National Association of Middle School and Elementary Principals, Indiana Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Training workshops in areas of conflict management, Am Vets Post 26, and the Masonic Lodge of Markleville.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Fran (Monroe) Auker; children, Lee (Monica) Auker of Evansville, Kirsten Lowe of Pendleton, Heidi Calamito of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Nathan (Melissa) Nyboer, Brandon Auker, Kelsi Auker, & Mason Auker; five great grandchildren; siblings Bill (Deloris) Auker, Darlene (Dave) Ramsey, Ruth McDonald, Linda (George) Geissler, & Susan Lape; and several nieces and nephews.Terry was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Alex McLaughlin; son in-laws, Jim Calamito, Ed Lowe; and nephew, Dwayne Ramsey.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the South Madison Community Foundation. A private family service will be held with a Public Celebration of Life at a later date.
