Suzanne Pauline Drennen
January 17, 1936 – September 23, 2023
Suzanne Drennen passed peacefully on September 23, after an extended illness.
She was born in Anderson, Indiana to Pauline (Ellis) Driffill and Hubert Lloyd Driffill. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1954, and from Ball State University School of Nursing in 1958. She was a dedicated nurse, laying her healing hands on countless patients in her 40-year career. She worked alongside her husband, Dr. Robert Drennen, in their family practice, also working in extended care facilities and hospitals in the area over the years. She did this all while maintaining a lovely home and providing a supportive loving environment for her family. She was a talented cook, preparing countless meals for family gatherings. She loved reading, playing cards, gardening, bird watching, sewing, and knitting. She made many garments and knitted many blankets for family and friends. Suzanne’s greatest joy was time with her family. She was a devoted matriarch and brought light and love to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and beloved husband of 57 years, Dr. Robert V.E. Drennen.
She is survived by her twin brother Don (Linda) Driffill, two sons, Robert Eugene (Marsha) Drennen, Randall Don (Kay) Drennen, daughter Karen Drennen (Chris Resler), beloved sister-in-law, Jane Drennen; grandchildren Chris Drennen, Robert “RJ” (Sarah) Drennen, Randall (Katie) Drennen, Nikki (Mike) Bray, Katryn Lods, Kelcie Lods, Alexis Poznanski, Angelina Poznanski; great-grandchildren Hayden, Mason, Jeston, Nicco, Bently, Grayson, Liam, Tyler, Owen, and Zayden.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at South Meridian Church of God.
