Susan “Susie” Ruth Klooster, 73, of Anderson passed away on February 9, 2021 at Lindberg Crossing Senior Living. Susan was born on August 29, 1947 in LaPorte, IN to Carlisle and Lillian (Schuetter) Klooster. Susan was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, she graduated in 1965 from the Indiana Academy in Cicero, IN, and earned her nursing degree from Kettering College in Dayton, Ohio in August 1969. In 1983, Susie and her parents moved to Anderson and began working at Community Hospital as a registered nurse. She was an avid sports fan, but was especially fond of the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs. Susie loved animals and she had many of her own pets, but she especially loved being an “aunt” to the pets of her nieces and nephews. Susan is survived by her two sisters: Rebecca (brother-in-law Stephen) Massengill and Gail (brother-in-law Donald) Schwerin. Susie loved her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews more than life, and her pride and joy include: Jason (Suzy) Massengill, Lisa (Tony) Lenda, Amy (Rick) Hay, Laura (Eric) Johnson, Joel (Julia) Massengill, Lindsey (Mark) Birmingham and Alison (Clint Montgomery) Massengill; great nieces and nephews: Jacob, Ian, Elijah and Grayson Massengill, Jackson Lenda, Maddie Wages-Hay, Levi and Hunter Hay, Valerie and Kiersten Johnson, Everly and Max Massengill, Braylon, Aaron and Lillian Montgomery. Susie was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Susan will be held at 4:30 PM Saturday February 13, 2021 at the Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church 1122 W 8th St, Anderson, IN 46011 with the Pastor Terry Nennich officiating and assisted by Brent Schalk. Burial will be at-a-later date in Lambs Chapel Cemetery in LaPorte, IN. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until the time-of-service Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to one of the following: Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church, Chesterfield Animal Hospital or the Madison County Humane Society. Those attending services are asked to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
