Stephen Joe BillSon, Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, and Grandad. Born November 9, 1946 in Parke County, Indiana. Please celebrate his life with us, as Steve and Coco recently enjoyed their 45th wedding anniversary. He was blessed with three loving daughters and sons-in-law: Katie & Tim Benjamin, Margo & Andy Cromer, and Betsy and Cole Allen and the newest additions to “the pack” 3 grandchildren: Camille & Lennox Allen, and Regan Benjamin who rocked his world. What he truly enjoyed most was hosting family vacations, Sunday dinners, and sitting around the pool in the backyard with the people he loved.Steve served the community of Pendleton, which he often referred to as “Shangri-La,” on the Falls Park Board, Fall Creek Regional Waste Board, and the Pendleton Planning Commission along with South Madison Community Foundation.His professional career as a banker included serving customers and the communities of Alexandria at Commercial Bank and Trust, Chase Bank in Indianapolis, and at First Merchants Bank in Pendleton, Indiana. He was a humble community servant leader often working behind the scenes to connect people with people and serving the needs of the community. He served the banking industry in various ways throughout his career such as: Independent Bankers Marketing Committee, Madison-Grant Private Industry Council, Junior Achievement of Madison County and he was recognized by South Madison Community Schools as Business Partner of the Year representing First Merchants Bank. He truly enjoyed talking with people to help them gain their financial independence.
