Stephen Edward Clark Sr, 79, Lapel, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.He was born May 1, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana to Stephen Howard Clark and Deloris (Ashby) Clark Massey.Stephen graduated from Anderson High School in 1961. In high school, Steve was the president of DECA, a future retailers club, they won club of the year for two years in a row. In 1959 he was very proud to be a part of the Anderson High School Cross Country State Championship team. In 2015 he and other state champions were honored (In Night of Champions Ceremony) at Anderson High School. While in High School, Steve began working at Hoyt Wright in the shoe department. Later he went on to manage the shoe department at the Mounds Mall. Later when the Muncie Mall opened he managed the shoe department. Steve began working at Guide Lamp, division of General Motors in the lighting department in the 1980s for twelve years. He then retired from Lowes in Noblesville in 2009. Stephen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, and also attended the River Church. Stephen loved photography, he took his camera wherever he went, he loved to take pictures of family and friends. He loved to watch movies, especially westerns, staring John Wayne, he was a huge fan of the Duke. He also loved the Indiana Jones movies and the movie A Christmas Story. He enjoyed going to Star Wars movies with his friends, Aaron and Riley Blackford. He collected memorabilia from all of these movies. He was a huge sports fan, he liked IU basketball, Notre Dame football, and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed fishing in the pond at the home of Daryl and Deb Woodward. He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 every year with Everett Baker, and collected pins and programs he every year he went. He was also a VIP member of the Beef and Boards theatre in Indianapolis. He was a member of the USGA, and loved to play golf. Those who knew Steve well, knew he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always making jokes and laughing at others jokes too. His humor will be greatly missed. Steve loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and was very proud of each of them. He is survived by his wife Lynda (Woodward) Clark of 44 years, of Lapel; children, Stephen Edward Clark Jr of Anderson, Stanley Eric and daughter-law Julie Clark of Lapel, and Beth Ann and son-law Jeremiah Mullet of Lapel; grandchildren, Nathan, Nolan, Noah, Dalton, and Jessica; brother-law and sister-in-law, Daryl and Deb Woodward of Indianapolis; nieces, Annalisa (Brett) Teeters, Dee Woodward, Ayva Price, Micailynne Teeters; a nephew, Turner Price. He also leaves behind, special friends, Everett and Eve Baker, Ted Michael, and Aaron and Riley Blackford. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, and his friend Robert Edgecomb.A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Tyson Priest officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel, Indiana.Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church and the River Church.The service will be broadcasted live on the funeral home Facebook page, starting at 2pm on Sunday.Health precautions for the safety of family and friends will include facial coverings and social distancing.Online condolences: www.hersbergerbozell.com
