Noblesville

Stephen L. Boles, 73, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Compassus Hospice in Indianapolis following a brief illness. 

He was born on September 20, 1950 in Gamaliel, Kentucky to Alton and Lorene (Reece) Boles. He attended Red Boiling Springs High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard. 

He retired as a truck driver for Waitts Trucking in Sheridan. 

He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post #212. He enjoyed drag racing and working on cars. He loved watching westerns. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching his granddaughters play basketball. 

Stephen is survived by his wife, Donella (Edrington) Boles; a daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Custer; three grandchildren, Krista (Dustan) Jones, Taylor Custer and Katie (Jamie) Taylor; and five great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Clara Dean (Reece) Boles. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #212. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
