Stephanie Leigh Closser

Stephanie Leigh Closser, 47, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness.She was born on September 12, 1973, in Anderson to Stephen (Carolyn) Closser and Maggie (Peek ) VanHook.Stephanie graduated from Lapel High School in 1991.She previously worked at USA Group for several years, and then worked as a Consultant for Eli Lilly for several years. Stephanie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and niece and friend to many. Stephanie loved to mushroom hunt, fish, traveling to Florida, shopping with her daughter, mothers and sisters, and spending time with her family and friends. She was known as the cookie monster and loved to eat, and snuggling with her animals. She is survived by her parents; daughter, Kallie Grace Coffel of Anderson; brothers, Todd (Dawn) Norris of Poland, IN, Jesse VanHook of North Dakota; sisters, Tami (Kenny) Shackelfurd of Muncie; Jennifer Bilbrey of Andrerson; and Kimberly (Bill) Montgomery of Anderson. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her brother Jacob VanHook.A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor Richard Cole officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Jennifer Bilbrey through the Funeral Home for a Trust Fund for Kallie Grace.Health precautions for the safety of the family and visitors will include wearing face coverings and social distancing at all times.
