Stanley Vincent "Stan" Fabian, 92, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on February 3, 1923, in Pueblo, Colorado to Joseph and Mary (Pugel) Fabian. He graduated from Pueblo High School in 1941. He served in the U. S. Marines during WWII at Guadal Canal, Iwo Jima and the Marshall Islands. Stan retired in 1980 from the former Wicks Lumber in Anderson. He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel; Disabled Veterans; Anderson V. F. W.; and the Lapel American Legion Post 212. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Milburn Reddick) Fabian; two daughters, Patricia Ann (husband, Greg) Valentine of Lapel, and Sharon Kay (husband, Glenn) Robinson of Pendleton; two sons, Michael V. (wife, Missy) Fabian of Pendleton and Mark A. (wife, Kimberly) Fabian of Glen St. Mary, FL; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Valentine of Boise, ID; three nephews; two nieces; three step-children, Steve (wife, Liz) Reddick of Anderson, Kenneth (wife, Pam) Reddick of Anderson and Barbara (husband, Rod) McGuire of Elwood; 12 step-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lola (Schmidt) Fabian; four brothers, Joseph, Edward, John, and Henry Fabian; three sisters, Marian, Josephine, and Elsie Fabian; and one step-great-grandson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Holdzkom officiating. Burial will follow in Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton where military graveside rites will be performed. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Ford Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0626.
