Sigrida “Zigi” Maria Heathcote

Sigrida “Zigi” Maria Heathcote, 76, died May 5, 2018 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.Born January 1, 1942 in Latvia, she immigrated to the United States on August 14, 1950, and has lived in the Anderson/Pendleton area since 1977.A graduate of St. Agnes Academy, Indianapolis, she continued her education at Marian College, Indianapolis. After graduation in 1965, she was employed at the Indiana State Board of Health, Serology Laboratory and then at Indiana University Medical Center, Department of Clinical Pathology as Serology Laboratory Supervisor.A change in careers, she earned a Librarian Certification from Ball State University, and worked at the Pendleton Community Library since 1985, retiring in 2004.She was preceded in death by her parents, Janis and Ludviga (Morozs) Gzibovskis, and a brother, Harry Gzibovskis. Surviving are her husband, Michael C. Heathcote whom she married, September 4, 1965; their cute cat, Molly; a son, Michael C. Jr. and wife Jessica Heathcote of Lafayette; a daughter, Lara Susan and husband Greg Head of La Crosse, Wisconsin; a brother, Richard and wife Daina Gzibovskis of Indianapolis; sisters, Inese and husband Peter Komisars of Indianapolis and Rita and husband Peteris Putelis of Carmel; three grandsons, William Isaac Head, Otis Henry Head and Charles Michael Head all of La Crosse, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews and in-laws whom she loved. Services at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Msgr. Robert Sell officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton Community Library, 595 E.
