Shirley Williamson

Shirley Williamson, age 96, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on July 24^th , 2023 at Bethany Pointe. Shirley was born on May 27, 1927 to Orvie and Doris (Rhynearson) Kustanborter. She attended school in Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School in 1945. She married John Williamson who was in the Army Air Corp in 1944.

She worked at Hooks Drug Store, the US Post Office, Montgomery Wards in Washington D.C., the Anchorage Alaska Communications System, and the camera shop at the air base in Tehran, Iran.

Together, Shirley and John raised 3 daughters. They had temporary assignments at Altus AFB, Oklahoma, and Tehran, Iran when John worked for Lockheed Aircraft. They moved back to Anderson in April 2017.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sharon McClure of Kennesaw, GA and Carolyn (Gary) Tyson of Hobart, OK; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tommy) Carroll and Travis Tyson; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Landon Tyson.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Joan Williamson; granddaughter, Holly Tyson; one sister; and one brother.

The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53^rd St., Anderson 46013. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
