Shirley Lee (Petty) Brockman, 78, of Alexandria, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness.She was born June 27, 1943, in Holland, Kentucky to William Bryan Petty and Allie Lee (Minix) Petty.Shirley graduated from Anderson Community Schools.She retired in 2008 from Madison County, finishing her career at the Madison County Correctional Facility as a jail officer.Shirley loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Lisa (Dan) Hirsch of Ft. Wayne, Phil (Mija) Doughty of Anderson, and Jeff Pettigrew of Anderson; stepson, Larry (Lindi) Brockman of Texas; brother, William (Teresa) Petty of Alexandria; sister, Dutch McCord of Alexandria; grandchildren, Michael Crowl, Danielle (Andrew) Dunn, Zachary Doughty, Brady Pettigrew, Taylor (Alex) Layton, and Tristen Pettigrew. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, a Barbara Jean Nussbaum; and her former Husband of 30 years, Leland Wayne Brockman.
Per Shirleys wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.The family would like to thank Community Cancer Center-Anderson, Dr. Reddy, Susan Bozell and staff.
