Shirley Joyce Raison

Shirley Joyce Raison, 74, Lapel, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on August 18, 1937, in Enid, Oklahoma to George and Pauline (Williams) Younger. Shirley retired in 2000 from Lapel School where she worked as a custodian for 22 years. She is survived by her husband of 16 years Donald Raison; her sister, Carolyn (husband, David) Kemper of Kansas City, Kan.; three step-children, Connie (husband, Harry) Bennett of Fort Wayne, Deddie (husband, Ronald) Morse of Anderson, and Donald V. (wife, Donna) Raison of Ingals; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Edward Whitmill; her son, Donald Edward Whitmill; and her step-father, Thomas G. Hobbs. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Dr. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, January 23, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
