Shirley Ann Willoughby

October 18, 1935 — February 27, 2018

Shirley Ann Willoughby, 82, Lapel, passed away Tuesday at her daughters home following a four month illness.
She was born on October 18, 1935, in Sullivan County to William and Geneva (Beggerman) Figg.
Shirley was graduated from Lapel High School in 1954.
She had worked at Brockway Glass in Lapel and also Creative Toys in Anderson.
Shirley enjoyed working jig saw puzzles and was an avid colorer. She adored playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Michael Willoughby, Renee Coomes and Cheryl (Joe) Green; ten grandchildren, Justin, Latisha, Heather, Tony, Dwight, Jared, Josh, Mitch, Travis, and Haley; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Lacey and Wilma Girton; and several life-long friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Fred; a son Roger; and a sister, Marilyn Jacobs.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wright and staff and Kindred Hospice for their kind care of their mother.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Josh Castor officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
