Shelba Jean Phillips, 77, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on May 3, 1936, in Robson, West Virginia to George and Eula (Dial) Taylor. Shelba retired from Canteen Food Service at the former Guide Lamp division of General Motors in Anderson. She was an avid Bingo player. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James E. Phillips; three children, Don McMillion of Anderson, Karen (husband, Robert) Collins of Anderson, and Pam Foreman of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, D. J. McMillion, Bobby Collins, and Tiffany and Eric Foreman; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Woodard, Ashlyn McMillion, and Anabelle Norman; two brothers, Roger (wife, Jean) and Roy (wife, Myra) Taylor; three sisters, Sandy (husband, George) Schmutte, Sue (husband, Mac) McFadin, and Linda Saunders; one brother-in-law, J. D. McKinney; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charlie and George Taylor; and two sisters, Barbara McKinney and Patricia Taylor. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, August 30, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Friday, August 30, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
