Sharon S. Pike

Sharon S. Pike, 77, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born February 23, 1944, in Anderson to the late, Melvin L. & Maryellen (Roseberry) Slick. Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Anderson High School and was a lifelong supporter of the Anderson Indians. She then graduated from the Indianapolis Methodist Hospital School of Nursing where she made several lifelong friends and cherished her classmates. Sharon retired as a registered nurse from Dr. Charles King’s office after 28 years then worked for St. Vincent (St. John’s) Home Health Care. She was a member of the Anderson First United Methodist Church. When she wasn’t working, she was volunteering at Volunteered at First United Methodist Church office and Volunteered at the Clothes Closet at Allen Chapel AME, or in the past had spent time coaching women’s softball, basketball at St. Mary, and being an Anderson Marching Indians band parent. Sharon is survived by her children, Ann (husband, David) Ashley & Scott (wife, Kimberli) Pike; grandchildren, Hannah (Braden), Emma, & Reegan Ashley, Adrienne & Isabella Pike; great grandsons, Beau & Knox Neff; honorary son, Jason; brothers, Steve (wife, Elaine) Slick & Scott (wife, Mary) Slick; sisters-in-law, Becky Swager & Judy (husband, Rushen) Mayhugh; lifelong friends, Julie Broderick, Susie Rolf, & Patty Farran; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, David J. Pike; brother-in-law, David Swager; honorary son, Alan Felts. Services will be at 3 pm Sunday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Don Deena Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Anderson First United Methodist Church.
