Sharon Nyoka Greene

Sharon Nyoka "Okie" Greene, 75, Anderson, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at her home.
She was born on May 3, 1943, in Elwood to Wilbur and Helen (Goen) Brown and spent most of her early life in Perkinsville.
Nyoka was graduated from Lapel High School in 1961.
She retired in 2006 from Riverview Hospital.
Nyoka was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lapel; and the Red Hat Society .
She is survived by four daughters, Sheryl Delaplane, Karen (Delaplane) Kelley, Donna (Delaplane) (Tony) Dunn, and Becky (Greene) (Joe) Rastetter; eight grandchildren, Kacey, Shawn, Roy, Maddie, Trevor, Brooklynn, Will, and Gage; one brother, Wilbur (Sheila) Brown; several nieces and nephews; and her loving pet, Rosie.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jesse; two brothers, Larry and Rod Brown; and a sister Hub (Brown) Harrington.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Burial will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home.
