Sharon K. Conner

Sharon K. Conner, 73, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Anderson on September 20, 1947, to the late Emil and Virginia (Skinner) Krieg. She was employed briefly by Delco Remy, then retired to devote herself to the full-time care of her husband, Rory, after he became incapacitated. Rory and Sharon were married for 34 years, until he preceded her in death. She was a member of Main Street Church of God, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Benevolence Committee member, and Vacation Bible School volunteer. She was also very involved in the lives of her children; serving as secretary of the Franklin Elementary Mother’s Club, president of Franklin Little League, Girl Scout leader, and member of the Madison Heights Band Boosters. She will be missed by her three daughters, Cindy (husband, Lauren) MacMillan of Pendleton, Lori (husband, Layton) Gilroy of Hinesville, GA, and Emily Pyland of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Austin MacMillan of Cincinnati, OH, Jessica, Evan, and Chloe Macmillan, of Pendleton, Elijah Pyland of Lima, OH, Wyatt Pyland of Anderson, and Clayton and Brandon Gilroy of Hinesville, GA; one great-grandchild, Khalil Brown; her two brothers, Bruce and Steve Krieg, of Anderson; brother-in-law, Larry Conner; three nieces; one nephew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Brian Krieg; brother-in-law, Michael Conner; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, from 4-8 pm at Main Street Church of God. Services will be conducted Tuesday, March 30, at 11:00 am at Main Street Church of God, with the Rev. Don Billey officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Sharon’s grandsons, Austin and Evan MacMillan, Elijah and Wyatt Pyland, and Clayton and Brandon Gilroy. Her family would like to express their thanks to the hospice team from Compassus for their care and compassion during this difficult time; and to the staff of Memorial Health, Savannah, GA for their exceptional care.
