Sarah Jean Brooks, 95, of Anderson passed away Saturday morning at her home. Sarah was born in Noblesville and was the daughter of George Lawhorn and Cora Ellen Dellenger. Sarah married the love of her life Lester Brooks on September 6, 1941. Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Sarah loved spending time at Hill Lake during the summer with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going on bus trips to the casinos. Sarah is survived by 3 children: Lester (Sharon) Brooks, Beverly Bradley & Joe (Vicki) Brooks; 7 grandchildren: Kim (Terry Bilbry) Brooks, Dennis (Brian) Prevost-Fuller, Sandy Ellerman, Missy (Kenny) Farmer, Jody Brooks, Beth (Ken) Williams & Lee Brooks; 6 great-grandchildren: Kaycee (Rick Savage) Carter, Kayla (Tyler Knotts) Ellerman, Cameron (Tabitha Dillon) Ellerman, T.C. (Jessica Hamilton) Farmer, Kilynne (Ryan Burton) Brooks & Sarah Williams; 3 Great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon Knotts, Eliah and Elizabeth Brooks & 2 more on the way; 3 sisters: Phyllis Oaks, Ester Jarvis & Margie Quear; 1 brother: Ernie Lawhon. She was proceeded in death by her husband of almost 75 years Lester “Butch” Brooks, mother, father, 3 brothers: Jack, Charlie and Jim Lawhorn, son-in-law George “Bob” Bradley and one grandchild Shelly Renee Brooks. Services will be Tuesday November 21st at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson. Friends and family may show their respect at the viewing from 10a – 12p with the services to immediately following. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
